There are four ways of developing the disease:
- Legkoizlechimye disease.Acute illness without complications, a relatively soft in their causes and symptoms;called one of the doshas, are not burdened with the season, the climate, the constitution of the patient or the corresponding fabric;disease affects only one channel and one path (of the three) and not affected by vital parts;the body is able to withstand any medication, and the combination of all four factors of the treatment - doctor, assistant, medicine and the patient - optimally.
- intractable diseases.Chronic ailments or diseases that affect the vital parts of the body;disease during pregnancy, old age, or in the very early age;diseases caused by the two doshas or developing in two ways;disease, weighed down by seasonal conditions or the patient's constitution;disease with complications.
- Diseases in which improvement is possible. This prolonged illness, chronicity, often requiring surgical intervention, they affect the vital parts of the body, their symptoms are contradictory, improvement can only be achieved in the treatment process and eroding its end.Treatment supports the patient in the sense that as columns hold the ceiling from the inevitable fall.
- incurable diseases. These diseases affect all three doshas, the three way all the senses and motor organs;accompanied by excessive weakness and anxiety caused feverish excitement and eventually coma.Treatment of congenital incurable diseases has one goal - to give a person the opportunity to gain a full body in the next birth.
Since the outcome of the disease is not always clear, in his treatise Charaka devotes a section of the twelve chapters of the question of how to determine whether the patient died or not meant to be.This section is called "On the senses", and it is appropriate, as a good doctor should exert all their senses to determine the possible outcome of the disease. This includes and bad omens, which decreases the attention of both the patient and the doctor, and the dreams and premonitions, and changes in the shade and the aura of the patient, as all this is material to predict the time of death.
There are signs relating to the messenger who brings the doctor to the patient's bed.Signs, as such, does not contain a special force and no consequences do not in themselves imply.Instead, they, like the prosperity of the bodily tissue, the pulse and breath in the nostrils, and reflect edinomomentnost interconnectedness of events, point to the fate of the course and say, "where the wind blows."For example, if the messenger is in the form of a disheveled, or when the doctor is busy purging, it indicates that the power of life and well-being of the person leaving and the disease is likely to end in death. But if the messenger is well dressed and has the form of a successful man, if it comes at an opportune moment, it is considered a good sign, and the treatment is likely to lead to the desired result.
In addition, on the way to the patient the physician should pay attention to the signs. For good signs include yogurt, rice, bull, king, jewelry, a pot of water, a white horse, fruit, small children at the hands of adults, one animal on a leash, plowed land, burning fire, candies, white flowers, sandalwood ointment, attractivethe type of food or drink, carts with people, a cow with a calf, horse and foal, a woman with a baby, swan, blue jay, talking starling, a peacock and a few other birds, elephant tusks, the swastika, shell, mirror, umbrella and Vedic chants.
Dreams, like the signs, symbolizing the arrival and the nature of the various forces that rage around the doctor and the patient.Dreams, in the western world used to diagnose the disease long before Aristotle, an important part of the diagnosis of the Indian, as in India is widespread belief that the bad dreams have something to do.Bad dreams - it's completely unambiguous indication that something went wrong, that life flowed in the wrong direction, but having enough will power and resorting to austerity - to fasting, prayer, sacrificial food distribution, - the impending threat could be taken, and then replace the bad luck will come good.
According to Charaka, health and happiness to announce those dreams in which dreaming sun, the moon, the gods, kings, live friends, Brahmins (possibly later paste!), A cow, a burning fire, a place of pilgrimage.Good health promise to those dreams in which dreaming about a victory over their enemies, the journey to the north-east entrance to the palace, or climbing a mountain, or a galloping bull elephant.Dreaming of flowers, clean clothes, meat, fish and fruit, with the bites of leeches and bees (honey plants and hornets), bites of snakes promise to retreat to the patient's disease and the healthy welfare gains.Even the performance of the prohibited acts, being covered with mud, crying, dying and eating raw meat in a dream - all this is a sign of the future health and well-being.As an example of poor sleep can result in a jump on a big black Buffalo at dusk toward the south.
If the disease does not bode well, the doctor should in no way to inform the patient as long as it is satisfied that such news will be properly perceived the patient and his family. In addition, there is always the chance that the patient by some miracle survived.Clinicians should not waste medications and family money for treatment of the dying.Physicians should not eat or even drink water in the house of the dying, since the whole environment is saturated with disadvantage (or more precisely, a denial of worldly welfare), that is death. The mind and body are terminally ill can no longer or do not want to respond to the healing energy. When it comes time to die, a person should prepare for this in peace and tranquility, with a clear mind, not disturbed by any external activities, including therapeutic.
